Dallas Willard shares these thoughts -
"It is almost universally conceded
today that you can be a Christian without being a disciple. And one who actually
is an apprentice and co-laborer with Jesus in his or her daily existence is
sure to be a "Christian" in every sense of the word that matters. The very term
Christian was explicitly introduced in the New Testament -- where,
by the way, it is used only three times -- to apply to disciples when they could
no longer be called Jews, because many kinds of gentiles were now part of them."
